Nowadays, "Expiring food" and“expired food” have always been a top topic. A recent online survey regarding to "Would you like to buy soon-to-expire food?"

Among the 3008 people who voted, there were 2,166 people (up to 72%) , chose "of course" and "doesn't care". maybe the option settings for this survey are somewhat inductive, but it can be seen obviousely that many consumers accept soon-to-exprie foods – as long as the prices are cheap enough.

This so-called "soon-to-expire food" or "Expiring food" refers to food that is soon close to it's expiry date. In the past, many people regarded this expiry date as a "safety line" and thought that they could not eat if they had passed this expiry date. Think about that on one evening, you are forced to eat lots of foods, because today is their expiry date, and tomorrow need to throw them away!  : )  

After several years education, many peope have already understood that the shelf life is not the dividing line between "good" and "bad" food, but a promise from the manufacturer: the promise of food's flavor, taste, appearance and safety during this period, all are within the scope of the product description. During this period, if any change in the aspect is beyond the reasonable range, the manufacturer shall take this responsibility; And after this period, the product will not become unable to eat, but the manufacturer will no longer guarantee.

This is like buying a car, within the warranty period, this car is broken, the manufacturer is responsible for it; after the warranty period does not mean that the car is broken and can not drive, but if it broken ,it needs to be repaired by yourself.

Therefore, as long as the food within the shelf life( even if it is "close to expiry date"), the quality of the food is guaranteed. Although the taste of the flavor may be reduced, there is no problem in eating it. In fact, as long as the packaging is in good condition and the storage conditions are qualified, even if it is overdue for a period of time, it can be safely consumed.
